Pix(elated!) Opens tonight!
Yippeeee! We’re very excited for the show’s opening reception! The reception opens at 5:30 p.m. in the Visual Art Center and will be catered by Strombolli’s pizza. We’ll also be announcing the Judge’s Choice Awards from our incredible judges Mikey Burton, Always With Honor, and Scott Hodgin. Come by and join us for some great company and greater design from across the nation!

Tonight we had the great pleasure of sharing a chat with one of our judges, Mikey Burton! He talked to us about some really great stuff like his background, work process on one of his recent projects, judging, time warps, beards, etc. It was a lot of fun, thanks Mikey!

Pix(elated!) winners announced!
The judging is completed, the scores have been tallied, and the 5th Annual Pix(elated!) winners have been chosen! Our 65 winning projects, chosen from 433 entries, represent 7 different universities and some of the best student design work in the country. Special thanks to everyone who entered, as well as to our judges, Mikey Burton, Scott Hodgin, and Elsa and Tyler Lang of Always With Honor for their hard work. The winners, listed below, will be on display at the Mississippi State University Visual Art Center Gallery (located at 808 University Drive in Starkville, MS) from March 7th through March 25th, 2011. Everyone is invited to the opening reception which will be on March 10th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
ATTENTION WINNERS. Winning entries need to be shipped ready to display or hang in a gallery. Work should be mounted on black board or framed. For 3-dimensional work, please send the actual piece if possible. If it’s not possible to send 3D work, please send product shots mounted on board instead. Projects will not be returned unless sent with a self-addressed, stamped box or envelope. The deadline for receiving entries is February 28th, so work should be shipped 3 to 5 days ahead of that deadline to ensure it is received on time. Entries that arrive damaged will not be displayed. Judging Delay
We apologize but selecting the winners for the Pix(elated!) show is taking a wee bit little longer then we anticipated. We hope to notify the winners as soon as possible, but it will probably be at least a week or two before we do. We will probably move the date that work needs to be received as well. Thank you for your patience!

Screenprinting the Posters
Here are some pics from when the design team screenprinted the promo posters for Pix(elated!). We used silver ink on French paper. Thank you design team and everyone who helped mail them out. Expect to see more design-related stuff like buttons, award certificates, and of course pics from the show in March!
